Val’s Dallas Open Play Semifinals

Val

We get a no action yesterday as J. Duckworth withdrew with an injury in the 2nd set. You could tell something wasn't right in the 1st set as he wasn't playing well at all.

Record 11-14 (-4.73 units)

Marcos Giron -102 (Risk 2.04 for 2 units) Expected start time 6pm EST Feb 10th.

American M. Giron faces France's A. Mannarino in one of the semifinal matches today at the Dallas Open. I mentioned in my write up yesterday that the path to the quarters was a cake walk for Mannarino as he received a bye in the first round and his 2nd round opponent Y. Nishioka withdrew, yesterday his quarterfinal opponent J. Duckworth also withdrew in the 2nd set with an injury so he's played a total of 1 1/2 sets in 3 rounds. Apart from being fresher for this match that is the only advantage he has over Giron. Giron was really impressive last night as he made short work of his opponent F. Tiafoe, there is no denying that Tiafoe is the more talented player, however, Giron is in a zone right now and playing wonderful tennis. He broke Tiafoe early in both sets and never looked back. The hard court surface in Dallas plays super fast and that gives the clear advantage to Giron as Mannarino does not have much of a power game. I like Giron to continue his high level of play and reach the final of the Dallas Open.
