How to bet against the "Spread" - Beginner Level Lesson 1

Beginner Level
John Alesia

The basics on how to bet on the spread in sports betting.

Here is the formula to calculate what the breakeven point for the "juice" would be.

The formula for a minus juice (a negative number i.e. -110)

-line/(100-line)

The formula for plus juice (a positive number i.e. +105)

100/(100+line)

In the video, John talks about -110 juice being a 52.4% breakeven point.
-(-110)/(100-(-110))
110/210=52.4%

For +105 juice
100/(105+100)
100/205 = 48.8%
