The Rangers host the Mets tonight in Arlington, both sides are going in different directions right now, the Mets have won 5 straight while the Rangers were just swept by the Mariners in a 3 game series over the weekend. It will be D. Petersen on the mound versus J. Gray, Gray has been a real bright spot for the Rangers this season as his ERA is 2.16 on the season, he’s been very efficient at home this season with the Rangers winning four of his six starts. Petersen is in the rotation because of the injury to K. Sengai and has been serviceable in three starts but will get exposed as he has in years past, I like the Rangers behind Gray to get back on the winning track tonight.

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 +107 & SD Padres/Philadelphia Phillies O9.5 -105

The Padres are off being swept by the Mets and are now in Philly for a series versus the first place Phillies. The Padres are struggling as their starting pitchers are getting roughed up and not going deep into games. Tonight’s starter R. Vazquez will probably not solve that issue as he hasn’t pitched 7 full innings in any one of his eights starts on the season, he’s actually only made it past 5 IP in two of those starts. His ERA sits at 4.93 and his WHIP is terrible at 1.51, the Phillies counter with C. Sanchez and he’s been really good at home with a 1.70 ERA and the Phillies winning four of his six home starts. The Phillies will be welcoming back T. Turner to the starting lineup which will help their offense, I like the Phillies on the run line and over the total tonight.
