Ottawa Senators -117

The Senators host the Preds tonight at Canadian Tire Centre, although the Preds have won three straight coming into tonight their defensive play from a metrics perspective hasn’t been great. When playing five-on-five, the Preds are third worst in the league in expected goals conceded and tonight isn’t a good matchup as the Sens are ranked sixth in expected goals when playing five a side. As of late the Sens have been peppering a lot of shot on goal I expect that to be an issue for the Preds and think that their three game winning streak ends.

Buffalo Sabres -.5 -148 (regulation)

The Flyers visit the Sabres tonight; the Flyers are on a B2B after getting walloped by the Leafs 6-2 yesterday. Expectations are the Flyers will be with backup goalie S. Ersson whom has played well but only in a three game sample size. The Flyers have zero success in B2B this season as their 0-6 so far, and I don’t see them getting their first win versus the Sabres. No one can remember the last time the Sabres were five games over .500 this late into the season, however, this team has going on with the presence of great young players in R. Dahlin, O. Power and the scoring machine that is T. Thompson. I like the Sabres to take of business in regulation.

Seattle Kraken -1.5 +137

The Habs host the Kraken at the Bell Centre tonight; the Habs ended their seven game losing streak on Saturday with a surprise 5-4 victory over the Blues. However, in my opinion that was more of an outlier that them turning things around, the reality is the Habs are not a good team and I expect them to continue struggle in the second half of the season. As I mentioned above in the Senators write up that the Preds were third worst in the NHL at five-on-five, well one of the teams behind them is the Habs so it isn’t surprising that during their seven game losing streak that six of the losses were by two goals or more. Expect the losing to continue tonight and by multiple goals.
