Val’s Big Payday Parlay January 31st 2023

Val

We go 1-2 last night as we hit the Jets in regulation, the Lakers took the lead for a short period in the 2nd half before fading late while the Thunder made a valiant effort in the 2nd half to get close before fading themselves.

Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 +128

The Canes host the Kings at home tonight in a matchup they have totally owned of late. The Canes have won six straight versus the Kings and the games haven’t been very competitive at all, the Canes have won five of the six games by two goals or more. The Canes also come into this game having won five straight and seven of their last ten games. The Kings have lost four of their last seven games and this will also be the last game of a long five games east coast road trip. I like the Canes here by multiple goals versus a team they’ve dominated.

Ottawa Senators/Montreal Canadiens U6.5 -114

The Sens are still in Montreal as these two teams faced each other on Saturday with the Sens taking it 5-0. The Habs looked lifeless and missing C. Caulfield’s offensive touch is starting to show. These two teams are under teams as the Sens have played 63% of their games to the under while the Habs are at 59%. Plus these two teams have a history of playing to the under as the under is 6-2-1 in the last 9 meetings in Montreal while the under is 14-5-1 in the last 20 meetings overall. I do not see this game getting to 7 or 8 goals tonight; expect another game at 5 to 6 goals.

Cleveland Cavaliers -170

The Cavs host the Heat tonight in Cleveland. We have one of the best home teams in the NBA with the Cavs at 21-5 hosting a below average team on the road in the Heat at 11-14. Proving that point is the Heat’s last road game on Sunday in which they lost to the lowly Charlotte Hornets that are 7-16 on their home court. I don’t think the Heat’s front court will be able to go head to head with the two headed 7 foot monsters that the Cavs present in J. Allen and E. Mobley, and it will provide the Cavs with extra offensive possessions and limit the Heat in offensive rebounds. I like to Cavs to defend their home court.
