The Canes host the Devils tonight at PNC Arena; the Devils are off a third period comeback over the Rangers on Saturday but now have to face a team they’ve had no success against over the last 2 seasons. The Devils haven’t beaten the Canes in almost a full calendar year, the last win dating back to Jan 22, 2022. The Canes have won 5 straight versus the Devils and haven’t lost to the Devils on home ice since 2019. The Devils are playing much better this season but just don’t match up well versus the Canes. I like the Canes to make it 6 straight versus the boys from Jersey.

Colorado Avalanche -129

The Avs host the Panthers tonight at Ball arena; the Avs are starting to get healthier game by game as they’ve welcomed back N. MacKinnon and E. Rodrigues back to the lineup over the last week. Both didn’t make immediate impacts upon returning but you’re starting to see them round back into game shape especially last game versus the Oilers. The Panthers have only won 3 of their last 9 games with 2 of those wins versus the Coyotes & Habs, whom aren’t beating many teams of late, they’ve confirmed S. Bobrovsky in goal and he’s hasn’t played well this season. Expect the Avs to defend home ice tonight.

Calgary Flames -.5 even (regulation)

The Flames visit the Blues tonight in St. Louis. The Flames are off a real embarrassing OT loss to the lowly Blackhawks on Sunday as a -355 favorite. I cannot imagine that sitting well with Coach D. Sutter, he’s an old school guy and I expect the Flames to come out with a lot of energy. I can’t believe the Blues were able to come out victorious versus the Wild 3-0 on Sunday considering all the pieces that are missing up front and on the blue line. However, I do believe that tonight will be different as the Flames have a lot of scoring options and it will be an issue for the Blues on the defense end. I like the Flames to get things done in regulation.
