Anaheim Ducks +164
The Ducks hope to use momentum from their huge win yesterday over the Panthers versus the Caps tonight. The Ducks rallied from a 4-2 deficit to tie the game in the 3rd period and eventually win in OT. Tonight they face the Caps that have confirmed D. Kuemper as their starter and with the way Kuemper has played this season and as of late shouldn't be this big of a favorite versus any team outside of the Sharks. Kuemper has a 3.27 GAA on the season and even worse of late, over Kuemper last 6 starts his GAA is 4.16 losing 4 of them. Yes the Ducks are not having a great season but there is value with them tonight at +163 versus an ok Caps team with a struggle goalie.
NY Rangers -.5 -135 (regulation)
The Kraken 9 game winning streak was snapped yesterday afternoon versus the Penguins and now have a quick turnaround versus an even better team in the Rangers. Yes the Rangers have been struggling of late losing 4 of their last 5 but are catching the Kraken at a good time being on a B2b, 4th game in 6 nights and toward the last legs of a long road trip. The Kraken have confirmed C. Driedger as their starter and strategically felt it would have been better to start him versus the weaker offensive club in the Penguins yesterday. Now he faces a Rangers team that scores plenty of goals on home ice. The has been some breakdowns in the Kraken's defensive play as they've given up 7 goals over their last 2 games, now that their streak is over I feel the Kraken may hit a little bit of a lull of their next few games. I like the Rangers in regulation.
Dallas Stars -.5 +118 (regulation)
The Kings snapped their 8 game losing streak with a big road win over the Canes whom we playing really tonight. Now they have to play a B2B on the last leg of this very long 6 game road trip versus the Stars. The Stars J. Oettinger returned in their last game coming in to replace S. Wedgewood whom was injured in the first period. Oettinger stopped 21 of 22 shots getting the win versus the Blackhawks 3-1. The Stars must be delighted to have him back as Wedgewood was serviceable while Oettinger was hurt but the is a clear talent gap between the two. The Stars have dominated this matchup in Dallas having not lost to the Kings on home ice since in almost 4 full calendar years. I like the Stars in regulation with the Kings on a B2B and at the end of a road trip.
