The Tar Heels host the Blue Devils in what will be Coach K’s last visit to Dean E. Smith Center, to some this is one of the greatest rivalries in sports let alone just basketball. History has shown that you can throw away the W/L records and team rankings when these two teams faceoff because the motivation to beat your opponent will always be there regardless if either one of these programs is having an off year. Coach K actually has a losing record at the Smith Center at 16-19. I understand that the Blue Devils have P. Banchero but the Heels have A. Bacot and he is beast as well, I like the Heels to take this matchup in this storied rivalry.

The LSU Tigers visit the Commodores today in an SEC matchup. Both these clubs have been struggling of late as the Tigers have lost 5 of their last 6 while the Commodores has lost 4 of their last 5. Coach J. Stackhouse has the Dores playing a tough brand of basketball and can upset an SEC team at home on any given night. The Dores are led by Scottie Pippen Jr. and he will definitely be playing in the NBA in the future. The Tigers are not a great road team as they often go into offensive funks for long stretches allowing their opponents to take control of the game. This is something that I expect to happen today as well. Dores win outright.

Kentucky Wildcats +105

The Crimson Tide host the Coach Calipari and the Wildcats tonight. This will be a nice matchup not only between the players on the court but also between the coaches J. Calipari and N. Oats. One of the biggest worries for the Tide tonight will be can anyone contain O. Tshiebwe? He is a double double machine which you don’t see too often in college basketball. For the Tide it always comes down to shooting and this season they’ve been prone to go through stretches where they can’t make a bucket for long periods. I think the Wildcats will be able to force them to take contested shots and make things difficult for them. The Wildcats have an experienced lineup and that will help them tonight get the win on the road.
