The Bolts are in Pittsburgh to face the Penguins tonight; both teams will be on a B2B as the Penguins won in OT 3-2 versus the Blues while the Bolts shutout Detroit 3-0. With both teams on a B2B which should be in store for a game of backup goalies which means we will see B. Elliot versus C. DeSmith, so I expect goals to be plentiful tonight. The Bolts and Penguins have a history of high scoring games as the over is 34-11-6 in the last 51 meetings and 18-6-2 in the last 26 games in Pittsburgh. Expect that trend to continue with both backups in goal tonight.

Toronto Maple Leafs -150

The Kraken host the Leafs tonight in Seattle; the Kraken have been slumping in their last 2 games on the defensive side as they looked lack luster in a 4-0 loss to the Sharks on Monday and the offense woke up versus the Bruins by scoring 5 goals but were even worse on the defensive side giving up 6 goals and lost on Thursday. Now the Leafs come into town winners of 4 of their last 5 and have looked revitalized since the acquisition on R. O’Reilly. Last month the Kraken smoked the Leafs in Toronto 5-1 and I like the Leafs to return the favor tonight as the Kraken are really showing cracks on the defensive end.

Atlanta Hawks -5 -106

The Hawks host the Nets tonight in Atlanta; the Nets were embarrassed by the Bulls in their first game post All-Start break losing by 44 points 131-87, while the Hawks took care of the Cavs in the first post All-Star break game 136-119. The new strategy in Brooklyn seems to be let’s take a boat load of 3s and see what happens as they took a ridiculous amount of them (44) versus the Bulls and only hit 12. If they plan to use that strategy tonight they could be in for another long night at the Hawks have the 8th best 3 point defense in the league. Also the addition of S. Bey to the starting lineup helped tremendously versus the Cavs as he scored 19 points on 6/9 shooting, his presence will be helpful again tonight for the Nets.
