Vancouver Canucks/Detroit Red Wings O6.5 -121

The Canucks finish off their east coast road trip in Detroit this afternoon. If there is one thing that we can decipher from this road trip is the Canucks look to be involved in a lot of high scoring games between now and the end of the season. Between their bad goaltending and the number of shots their allow their opponents to take, you have to imagine their will give up 3 goals at a minimum most nights. On the offensive end it seems that new Coach R. Tocchet has lite a fire under them as they’ve scored a combined 13 goals in 3 games post All Star break. I expect to see a lot of goals this afternoon.

Nashville Predators/Philadelphia Flyers U6 -116

The Preds are in Philly to face the Flyers this afternoon. Both teams have played to the under more than overs this season mainly due to the play of their starting goalies in J. Saros and C. Hart and both are projected to start this game. Hart has been especially good since the start in the second half giving up only 3 goals over 2 games while the last four Flyers games have gone under the total. Add to that, that history dictates that this game should go under the total, as the under is 8-2-1 in the last 11 meetings in Philadelphia. We have two really good goalies facing off this afternoon and for that reason I will play under 6 goals here.

Orlando Magic pick -106

The Magic host the Heat tonight, the Magic have surprised many this season as their projected win total was 26.5 and their already at 23 wins with 26 games remaining in the season. Their success is mainly due to the play of rookie P. Banchero and the development of W. Carter & M. Fultz, the play of F. Wagner hasn’t hurt either. I think the Magic are catching the Heat in a vulnerable spot here as they will be on a B2B and third game in 4 nights. Plus the Heat didn’t look great on their home court versus the lowly Rockets last night needing a last second inbound dunk from J. Butler to win 97-95. The Magic just beat the Nuggets on their home court 2 days ago and I think their carry that momentum into tonight’s game and get the job done versus the Heat.
