Lopez on the mound, Wheeler is dealing in August with a 1.35 ERA over 3 starts, 2 of which have flown under the posted total, this will be his 2nd start versus the Braves this season, his 1st resulted in 6 shutout innings pitched. Lopez will be making his first start since July 28th as he was on the IL, before then he was a CY Young candidate with a 7-4 record and 2.04 ERA. This will also be his 2nd start of the season versus the Phils, his 1st was 6 shutout innings in a Braves 6-0 win. Expect both starters to dominate again in a low scoring game.

Washington Nationals -1.5 +142 & Colorado Rockies/Washington Nationals O8 even

The Rockies and Nationals begin a three game series in DC tonight when A. Gomber faces DJ Herz on the mound. Gomber has been mostly hit or miss this season, either pitching well or not at all in his starts. Most of those misses have been on the road where his ERA is 5.16 and the Rockies only winning 4 of his 13 road starts. Herz for the Nats has pitched well, especially at home where his ERA is a respectable 3.65 and he's averaging well over a strikeout an inning. After their offense was neutralized by the Phillies, the Nats will be delighted to face a Rockies staff that ranks towards the bottom of the majors. I like the Nats by multiple runs and over the total.
