Val’s Aussie Open Play - Women's Semifinals
Val
Our play was a winner after the first set as Zverev took it 6-1 and it was smooth sailing the rest of the way. No better feeling than knowing your bet cashes that early. Zverev continued to be an issue for Alcaraz as he won the match straight up as a big dog.
Record 6-6 (-0.05 units)
Coco Gauff +1.5 sets -143 (Risk 1.43 for 1 unit) Expected start time 3:30am EST Jan 25th.
Tonight's semifinal match between C. Gauff & A. Sabalenka is the final of the Aussie Open in my opinion. I do not feel that the winner of the other semifinal matchup between D. Yastremska & Q. Zheng will be much of an obstacle to the winner of this match in the final Saturday. In full disclosure, I have a future on Gauff to win this tournament and will be cheering her on to win this match. Gauff did show signs of weakness in the quarters versus M. Kostyuk but was able to overcome it and win her match in 3 sets. However, if she does struggle like that tonight versus Sabalenka it will be game over for her. Sabalenka has faced zero adversity at the Aussie Open yet and has a history of cracking when faced with it in the past. Gauff leads the H2H versus Sabalenka on hard court 3-1, and has always given Sabalenka a hard time. I like that to continue tonight, I will take Gauff +1.5 sets but you can also sprinkle a little on the ML +182 if you would like.
