Andrey Rublev +141

Cameron Norrie & Andrey Rublev are the first match of the day at the US Open today, both sit at #9 and #11 players in the world in the men’s rankings. This is Norrie’s best ranking of his career where Rublev has been as high as #5 in the world. These 2 have played each other twice in the past each winning a match. Rublev has been on the court much longer that Norrie so far at the Open 9h 30 minutes compared to Norrie’s 6h 17 minutes, however, Rublevs’ opponents were a lot better than those of Norrie so that isn’t surprising. Rublev is in great shape so the extra time on court shouldn’t hinder him this morning and he can easily win this match so I will back him at plus money.

Petra Kvitova/Jessica Pegula O2.5 sets +134

The first quarter final matchup of the women’s draw today pits Petra Kvitova versus Jessica Pegula. Pegula will have the home court advantage as the crowd will clearly be on her side in New York. They have met previously on 2 occasions, both on hard court and Kvitova has bested Pegula both times. I not sure if Pegula will finally be able to get past Kvitova today but I definitely believe that she will at worst take this match to a third set behind a boisterous crowd cheering here on. I like the plus money over 2.5 sets this afternoon.

Victoria Azarenka/Karolina Pliskova O2.5 sets +118

Victoria Azarenka & Karolina Pliskova are another of the quarter final matchups this afternoon at the US open. Both players are former #1 overall but now are at the tail end of their careers with Azarenka aged 33 and Pliskova 30. These have met previously on 8 different occasions with the H2H tied at 4 games apiece. Azarenka has a 2 to 1 advantage on hard court. If we discount the first matchup between these 2 players in 08 (14 years) when Azarenka was 19 and Pliskova was 16, 5 of their 7 previous matches always went to a 3rd and decisive set, I’ll gladly take the plus money over 2.5 sets with the history these 2 have versus one another.
