Kansas City Royals +121

The Royals visit the Guardians in what is probably a first in MLB history; a 6 game series that will run till the end of the season. The Guardians playoff position is secure and they can't move in terms of seeding in the AL, so I can see Tito Francona giving his players some rest over the next 6 days to be fresh for the playoffs. The Royals come into this game having just been swept by the Tigers. The Royals send their best pitcher to the mound in B. Singer to face A. Civale; Singer and the Royals have won 6 of his last 7 starts during which his ERA is 2.27. The Royals have provided Singer with a crazy amount of run support (5.4) during this stretch. With the way Singer is throwing even 4 runs should be more than enough to get it done tonight.

Chicago Cubs -1.5 +143

The Cubs host the Reds for their last 3 home games of the season. The Cubs come into this game having won 4 straight and just swept the Phillies in a 3 game series that could possibly put in wrench in their playoff chances. The Cubs surprisingly enough continue playing their regulars even though they way out of the playoff picture. That is always a good thing when you want to back them. It will be G. Ashcraft versus A. Sampson on the mound, Sampson is red hot right now having given up more than 1 earned run only once in his last 6 starts. For the Reds, Ashcraft has an ERA of 5.29 over his las 3 starts all loses by the Reds. I like the Cubs with the better pitcher on the mound to win by multiple runs.

Atlanta Braves +116

The Braves host the Mets for a weekend series that may very well determine the winner of the NL East, the Mets have a 1 game lead over the Braves with 6 to play for both teams. The Mets finish the season with 3 versus the Nats, while the Braves finish with 3 versus the Marlins, so this weekend will play a huge role for the division title. It will be a matchup of aces tonight between J. DeGrom and M. Fried, DeGrom has oddly enough not been DeGromesque recently surrendering 11 ER over 15 innings in 3 starts, the Mets lost 2 of those 3 starts. For the Braves, Fried continues to be solid having not given up more than 2 ER in any of his last 9 starts. It surprises myself to be even saying this but "Fried is pitching better than DeGrom right now" so I will back the underdog Braves at home in a crucial game.
