Rangers closer J. Hernandez botched a 3 run lead in the 9th inning last night and an 8-5 lead turned into a 9-8 loss. Tonight we have a D. Keuchel sighting and we all know what that means, a run line play versus the Rangers. Like I mentioned in my last write up when we backed the Tigers in an 11-2 win versus Keuchel, he shouldn’t be pitching in the majors and will keep betting versus him as long as teams continue to employ him. Red Sox win big.

Seattle Mariners -1.5 +127

We have a rematch from last Saturday’s pitching matchup between L. Castillo & Z. Plesac; we had Seattle -1.5 as a play and if it were not for a collapse in the 8th inning by the Mariners bullpen, they were on their way to a nice win. The venue now switches from Seattle to Cleveland, and I will back Castillo and the Mariners again on the run line. He outpitched Plesac on Saturday and I expect it to happen again. The Guardians offense is in a funk now having been shutout in 3 of their last 4 games, Castillo isn’t exactly the best remedy for an offense that is struggling, and the Mariners win by 2 or more.

Cincinnati Reds -1.5 +172

The Reds host the Rockies for a weekend series. The Rockies offense heads into this series in a funk; they just finished scoring only 5 runs in 3 games versus the Braves and 8 runs in 4 games to the Mets in the series before that. Granted the Reds do not have the starters the Braves and Mets do, their starter tonight L. Cessa pitched his best game in his last start and I like him to repeat that tonight versus a struggling Rockies lineup. For the Rockies, K. Freeland has lost his last 4 starts and hasn’t pitched well giving up 16 earned runs in 21 and 2/3 innings pitched. I expect his struggles to continue tonight and the Reds to win by multiple runs.
