The Rangers are in Texas to face the Red Sox for a 4 game weekend series; the Rangers send G. Otto to the mound to face R. Hill. Neither of the 2 is having a great season, both have an ERA well above 4.00 and are .500 pitchers when it comes to W and L. I like the Rangers here at plus money due to the fact that Otto has at least shown a propensity to pitch better on the road, here ERA on the road is 3.79 which is 2.5 points lower than at home. R. Hill hasn’t pitched well a Fenway where is ERA 5.78 and the Sox have lost 5 of his 8 starts. This is a nice price for the Rangers tonight.

Detroit Tigers +134

The Tigers look to avoid the sweep versus the Mariners this afternoon when L. Gilbert faces E. Rodriguez. Gilbert has pitched well for a majority of the season, but has struggled as of late, the Mariners are 2-5 in his last 7 starts as his ERA is 5.59. For the Tigers, they’re finally seeing the E. Rodriguez they expected when they signed him to a large deal over the off season. Since coming off the IL, he’s surrendered 1 run over 11 innings in victories over the Angels and Rangers. I like getting the better pitcher at the moment at plus money.

New York Mets +119

The Dodgers and Mets play the finale of this 3 games series this afternoon at Citi Field, the Mets even this series at a game apiece with another great performance from J. DeGrom. This afternoon it will be C. Kershaw versus C. Bassitt: Kershaw will be making his first start in 3 weeks after hitting the IL in early August. For the Mets Bassitt, have been dealing as of late, in his last 7 his ERA is 2.33 and the Mets are in 6-1 in those starts. I like the Mets as small dogs here this afternoon.
