New York Mets -1.5 +122
The Mets regained the lead in the NL East with their win and the Braves loss to the Mariners. I expect them to continue winning this afternoon when they send T. Walker to the mound to face L. Luzardo. The Mets bats were rolling yesterday as they got contributions from several players in an 11-3 victory. I see today’s result being no different as Walker has pitched well in his 4 starts versus the Marlins this season and the fact that the Mets bats woke up yesterday. I like the Mets to win by several runs today.
Chicago White Sox -1.5 +112
I mentioned it last week and will repeat it again today; I think T. La Russo was bad manager for this team and the White Sox continue to prove that he was probably a problem as they continue to win while he is away from the team. They have won 4 straight and 8 of 10 since he stepped away from the team and they’re only 1.5 games behind the Guardians. It will be J. Cueto versus C. Irvin on the mound; Cueto has been lights out on the road this season as his road ERA is 1.78. He shouldn’t have issues shutting down the A’s anemic offense and leading the Sox to a multiple run victory.
Kansas City Royals -1.5 +137
The Royals look to bounce back today and avoid the sweep versus the Detroit Tigers of all teams. The Royals will have a clear advantage on the mound when T. Alexander faces B. Singer. Alexander and the Tigers have just been brutal when he’s started on the road; the Tigers are 0-6 in his 6 starts while he’s posted an ERA of 9.13, for the Royals Singer has been very good at Kaufman Stadium with the Royals winning 8 of his 12 starts while posting an ERA of 2.90. 6 of those 8 home wins were by multiple runs, today they make it 7 of 9.
