The Mets are no longer in first place in the NL East in a long time as the Braves passed them yesterday by .5 game with one game in hand. I hope that will spark them today versus the Marlins today. We have C. Carrasco facing P. Lopez on the mound, Carrasco has faced the Marlins 3 times prior and the Mets have won every game and 2 by multiple runs. Lopez has also made 3 starts versus the Mets and has been lite up in 2 of the 3. The numbers support a Mets run line play and that is what I will do.

Chicago Cubs +103

The Giants and Cubs play G2 of this series today; the Cubs surprisingly beat the Giants’ ace in C. Rodon yesterday, and tonight they try to take down L. Webb. M. Stroman starts for the Cubs and he’s have proven throughout the course of the season that as long as he isn’t pitching versus the Cardinals he gives the Cubs a chance to win the game. Outside of his terrible 3 starts versus the Cards he’s having a strong season. I don’t think the Giants should be favored on the road today and will back the Cubs.

Los Angeles Angels +121

The Angels and Astros go at it again tonight as S. Ohtani and J. Urquidy meet up in Houston. Ohtani has the Astros’ number when he’s on the mound; the Angels are 3-1 in his 4 starts versus them and he has the following stat line, 3 earned runs over 22 2/3 innings with 36 strikeouts. Urquidy has also pitched well versus the Angels this season, so I’m expecting a low scoring game and like the Angels to sneak out a win at plus money.

Arizona Diamondbacks/Colorado Rockies O11 -113

The DBacks and Rockies go at it again at Coors tonight after they combined for 23 runs last night. Tonight, the setup is perfect for another high scoring game; we have M. Bumgarner and J. Urena on the mound. Bumgarner has an ERA of 7.95 over his last 7 starts while Urena’s ERA is 7.60 in his last 7 starts. Add to these 2 gas cans that H. Wendelstedt in behind the plate calling balls and strike, his record to the over is 16-6 and we have the makings on offensive exhibition tonight in Coors. 11 is a high number but considering the pitchers and umpire involved the over is the play here.
