Tonight is a pivotal G3 between the Astros and Phillies tonight. The Phillies bats were stymied for the first time in a long time during this postseason as F. Valdez was exceptional over 6 plus innings. Tonight it will be L. McCullers versus N. Syndergaard on the mound; Syndergaard has only pitched 24 innings since the beginning of September and he hasn’t pitched very well surrendering 10 ER in those 24 innings. Routine is very important at this time of year to be able to maintain some type of rhythm and that is the furthest thing that Syndergaard has had. I like the Stros to take advantage of that tonight and take a 2-1 series lead.

The Capitals are in Carolina to face the Hurricanes; the Canes have not been playing well of late losing 3 of 5 and even in their 2 victories versus the Canucks & Flyers needed to come from behind to win. The Caps come into this game having won 3 of their last 4 and have been playing well. The Caps have won 5 of the last 6 matchups versus the Canes and were an underdog in 4 of the 5 victories. The Caps are too good of a team to be this big of a dog on the road. I like them to upset the Canes at a really nice price.

St Louis Blues -1.5 +199

The Blues host the Kings tonight; the Blues come into this game have lost 4 straight but think this is a get right spot for them. The Kings continue to struggle in goal as they have given up 3 or more goals in 8 of their last 10 games, and surprisingly enough they’ve actually been able to win 3 of those 8. However, that is not a recipe for success in the long run. The Blues have struggled offensively as of late but are catching a team that hasn’t been able to keep the puck out of the back of their net. I like the Blues to get back on the winning track in a big way tonight.
