Columbus Blue Jackets +177

The Blue Jackets visit the Devils this afternoon in Jersey. The Jackets acquisition of J. Gaudreau has not yielded the results expected standings wise as the Jackets are 3-6 even though he has 8 points in 9 games. The Devils have been playing really well of late winning 5 of their last 6; however, the majority of those victories came versus weaker teams. The Blue Jackets still have players that can put the puck in the back of the net with Johnny Hockey & P. Laine and I’m not ready to believe the Devils should be -200 favorites versus any team just yet. I like the big do here on the road.

Winnipeg Jets +175

The Jets are in Sin City to face the Knights tonight. Both teams come into this game winners of 3 straight and have been getting solid goaltending from their starters C. Hellebuyck and L. Thompson. Many believed that the Knights would struggle with Thompson leading the way but that has not been the case. The Knights are 7-2 on the season but only have 3 quality victories versus the Jets, Kings & Maple Leafs and the way the Leafs are playing I even question if that is a quality victory right now. The only 5 wins are versus the Ducks, Sharks, Kraken & Blackhawks. We have another situation where I think this line is way too high versus a team that has quality wins over teams like Kings, Blues & Rangers. I like the Jets to get revenge from their loss of Oct 20th versus the Knights.

New York Jets +140

The Pats (3-4) visit the New York (5-2) this afternoon. QB controversy is swirling around the Pats organization between M. Jones & B. Zappe; Jones has underperformed to this point of the season but that can attributed to injuries. The Jets have won 4 straight and taken advantage of teams struggling in the Steelers, Dolphins, Packers & Broncos and now also have to deal with the season ending injury to rookie sensation B. Hall; however, the Jets have a good backup RB in M. Carter. The Pats 3 wins this season are versus the Lions, Browns & Steelers whose total combined win loss record is 5-15. I think the Coach R. Saleh & the Jets defense are not getting the respect they deserve with this line and will back them as a home dog.
