St Louis Blues -1.5 +214

The Oilers start a 3 game road trip tonight with a visit to St Louis to face the Blues. The Oilers are coming off a 6 goal performance versus the Penguins 2 days ago but are facing a team in St Louis tonight that is more defensively sound. The Blues have won 6 of the last 9 meetings between these 2 clubs and have for the most part contained the Oilers offense. They played each other four days ago in Edmonton with the Blues coming out triumphant 2-0. The Blues will have the advantage in goal with J. Binnington over J. Campbell and I like them to win by 2 or more.

New York Islanders -1.5 +215

We have a battle of New York tonight between the Rangers and Islanders. The Rangers will be on a B2B after losing in a shootout to the Avs last night, the Islanders are well rested having not played since Sunday. The Rangers are projected to start J. Halak in goal and if that is the case the Isles will have a clear advantage in between the pipes. When comparing these 2 teams on paper there is no doubt the Rangers are the superior team, however, the Islanders are the team that has dominated the H2H matchups. The Isles have won 6 of the last 8 meetings with 4 of the 6 wins by multiple goals. With the Rangers on a B2B and starting their backup, I like the Isles by a couple.

Miami Heat -135

The Heat (1-3) visit the TrailBlazers (4-0) tonight at the Moda Centre. One would think that the records for these 2 teams should be inverted at this point of the season. The Heat has played tougher competition (Raptors twice, Celtics & Bulls) to this point than the Blazers (Lakers, Kings, Nuggets & Suns) but say what you will, the Blazers have gotten the job done. There has to be some big money on the Heat tonight as the opening line was Portland -1.5 and it has moved to Heat -2. The Heat has won the last 3 matchup between these 2 clubs and no victory was by less than 6 points. I like the Heat to get back on the winning track tonight with a win over the Blazers.
