Detroit Red Wings -1.5 +179
The Ducks are in Detroit for the last game of their 5 game 9 day East Coast road trip, the Ducks are winless through the first 4 and I don’t like their chances today versus the Wings. The Red Wings have lost 2 straight, however, both were in OT and they’ve registered a point in all 4 of their games so far this season. J. Gibson is projected to start and in all honesty, it doesn’t really matter who starts in goal for the Ducks right now, neither Gibson nor backup A. Stolarz has been any good so far this season. The last game of a long road trip is never easy to win especially when you’ve been struggling the way the Ducks have. I like the Red Wings by a couple today.
Florida Panthers -1.5 +133
The Panthers host the Islanders tonight; the Islanders are on a B2B after losing to the Lightning 5-3 last night. I thought the Isles were in a good spot last night to win catching the Lightning on a B2B off an emotional OT win over the Panthers and starting their backup B. Elliott. Unfortunately, the Isles didn’t take advantage of that and are now faced playing a Panthers team that has lost 2 of 3 and are looking the right the ship. I think this is a get right spot for the Panthers and they will take advantage of an Islanders team that they already beat by multiple goals easier this season.
Indianapolis Colts +117
The Colts (3-2-1) are in Tennessee to face the Titans (3-2). The Titans come into this game of a bye and have won 3 straight after starting the season 0-2. These teams played each other 3 weeks ago in Indy with the Titans coming out victorious 24-17 as a 4.5 point dog. There isn’t much of a talent gap between both teams and when that is the case it is pretty difficult to sweep the season series. J. Taylor is cleared to play and that with be a big bonus to the Colts offense. I’m a little surprised the line is this low considering the Titans have won 3 straight and are coming of the bye. The road team has dominated this matchup with the record of 7-1 ATS over the last 8, with the line being so low I will back the Colts to win this one straight up.
