Boston Red Sox/Toronto Blue Jays U8 -113
The Jays try to solidify their chances of home field advantage for the Wild Card series with a victory of the Red Sox this afternoon at Rogers Centre. It will be B. Bello versus R. Stripling on the mound; Bello had a very rough start to his career in the majors, getting hit around in his first 3 starts but has started turning things around. In his last 7 starts his ERA is 2.48 and no total for those games has surpassed 8. For the Jays, apart from A. Manoah, Stripling has been their most consistent starter as of late, the Jays are 6-1 in his last 7 starts and his home ERA on the season is 2.56. Also P. Hoberg will be behind the plate calling balls and strikes and the under is hitting at 67% with an average run total of 7.6 per game. The under is the play here.
Tampa Bay Rays +136
The Rays took G1 of this series last night versus the Astros and I like them to take it again tonight. It will be a tough pitching matchup between two really good pitchers in S. McClanahan and C. Javier. McClanahan has been light outs on the road this season will a 1.94 ERA and .71 WHIP and I think he will be able to shut down the Astros offense. The Rays clinched their ticket to the post season last night but are still trying to pry away home field advantage for the Wild Card games from the Blue Jays and Mariners so their motivation to win will be high. The Astros are just playing out the string and can see them resting starters and not being 100% motivated.
Oakland A’s +223
The Oakland A’s are in Seattle for G2 of this series versus the Mariners; it will be JP Sears versus L. Castillo on the mound. Castillo is starting to show some cracks in the armor since being traded to the Mariners, in his last 2 starts he hasn’t made it to the 6th inning while giving up 9 ER in total, also in 2 starts versus the A’s being acquired he’s given up 8 ER in 9 and 2/3 innings pitched. For the A’s, Sears has been average overall but for some reason he’s dominated the Mariners, in 2 starts, both victories, he’s pitched 10 innings while giving up only 2 ER and striking out 10. He seems to have their number and will gladly back the A’s at +223.
