This game was rained out yesterday and the total dropped from 6.5 to 6 but I still like the under this afternoon. Write up stays the same as my thought process hasn’t changed. This is a big game for the Guardians as they do not want to go back to Cleveland down 2-0 in this series. Winning will be no easy task facing N. Cortes, however, the Guardians do have S. Bieber on the mound and he’s been great down the stretch and in his start versus the Rays in the opening round. Runs will be very hard to come by for both teams today as I expect Bieber and Cortes to be in top shape. I’m tempted to back the Guardians but will go with under the total as I see this game finishing 2-1 or 3-2 for either side.

LA Dodgers -1.5 +148

Tonight is a pivotal G3 between the Dodgers and Padres at Petco Park. The Dodgers send T. Gonsolin their 3rd ace to the mound to face B. Snell, what a luxury D. Roberts has that his third starter in this series was 16-1 on the season with an ERA of 2.14. Some MLB teams didn’t have their #1 starter with numbers like that, let alone their #3. For the Padres, Snell didn’t pitch poorly during the season but did have games where he was totally off and was roughed up, case it point G2 versus the Mets, he was all over the place with his pitching as he surrendered 6 walks and 4 hits in less than 4 innings. The Dodgers are a patient lineup and will make Snell though strikes tonight and I don’t think Snell will have success doing that. Dodgers take a 2-1 series lead tonight.

Winnipeg Jets -1.5 +209

The Rangers are in Winnipeg to play the Jets; this will be the Jets 1st game of the season while the Rangers will be on their 3rd game in 4 nights. The Rangers will most probably be going with their backup goalie in J. Halak and the Jets will counter will C. Hellebuyck. The Jets performed well below expectations last season which caused Coach P. Maurice to resign mid-season and named R. Bowness their new coach this summer. Bowness has a proven track record and will definitely have the Jets back in playoff contention this season. Even though it is early in the season, 3 in 4 nights is never easy and can see the Jets winning by multiple goals.

Carolina Hurricanes -1.5 +138

Yesterday I backed the Stars to beat the Preds as I felt the long travel from the Czech Republic to the USA would be a factor for the Preds and it was as the Stars won easily 4-1. The Stars looked dominant and that was between teams that have similar talent. The other team returning from the Czech Republic is the Sharks and awaiting them in SJ is a rested team that is a lot more talented in the Hurricanes. I see the same type of result here tonight, with the Canes winning by multiple goals.
