Gilbert versus probable CY Young winner J. Verlander on the mound. Both pitchers have pitched well all season, but Verlander has been different level good this season, with a sub 2.00 ERA overall for the season coming off Tommy John surgery at 39 years old. It’s just phenomenal what he’s accomplished; I don’t see him imploding today and like the Astros by multiple runs today.

LA Dodgers -2.5 +152

After upsetting the Mets, the Padres try to do the same versus the Dodgers. That will be no easy task if the regular season is any indication; the Dodgers won 14 of the 19 regular season matchups. Tonight it will be M. Clevinger versus J. Urias; Clevinger had zero success versus the Dodgers this season, in 3 starts he allowed 14 ER over 13 innings while striking out only 11 batters, he never pitched past the 5th inning and the Padres lost all 3 with 2 of them being by 3 runs or more. Urias was lights out versus the Padres in 4 starts; 24 IP 4 ER 18 SO and a 4-0 record for the Dodgers, with 3 wins by 3 runs or more. Dodgers win big tonight.

Cleveland Guardians +183

The Guardians are in the Bronx to face the Yanks; it will be C. Quantrill versus G. Cole on the mound tonight. Quantrill ended the season on a role pitching really well down the stretch helping propel the Guardians to the postseason. The same can’t be said for Cole as even though the Yanks won the games he started he didn’t pitch well. The postseason is a different beast from the regular season, big comebacks like that of the Mariners on Saturday are very rare. Cole cannot afford to be off tonight as the Guardians pitching staff is rolling right now. If they get 5-6 innings from their starter, in comes Karinchak, Hentges, Sandlin & Clase and it’s usually lights out.
