The 2022-2023 season is not starting how most Maple Leaf fans had hoped at 3-2, and even 2 of the 3 wins weren't easy with a shootout win versus the Habs and an OT win versus the Bolts. Tonight they get an opponent in the Caps that are struggling mightily at 1-2-1 and are having trouble scoring goals. It is so bad in the Nations Capital that Alexander the Great even went 2 straight games without recording a shot on goal. The Leafs should be able to right the ship tonight with a multiple goal victory.

NJ Devils -1.5 +109

The Habs surprised me last night with a 3-1 over the Sabres on the road, tonight the host a different animal in the Devils. Four games into the season, scoring goals hasn't been an issue for the Devils as they scored 14 goals, the issue have been preventing goals as they've given up 15. The Habs aren't a team that is offensively gifted and their current pace of 3 plus goals per game will slowdown, the Devils should be able to take care of business on the road by a couple of goals or more.

Detroit Red Wings -123

If you haven't noticed by now, you've missed a really nice start to the season for the Red Wings as they're run off 5 straight wins since losing their first game of the season. The newly acquired A. DeBrincat has been leading the way with 8 goals and 12 points in the first 5 games. The young core of Larkin, Raymond and Seider look stronger and stronger every game! The Kraken (1-4-1) are really struggling to start the season and playing a team like the Red Wings is not a good remedy for that right now. I like the Wings at home tonight.
