With their backs against the wall, we saw the Atlanta Braves we saw all season in G2 of this series. Down 4-0 going to the bottom of the 6th, the Braves went on to score 5 unanswered runs over 3 innings and take the game 5-4. Tonight, we have B. Elder versus A. Nola on the mound, Nola didn't perform well in the postseason last year when the Phils needed it the most as he was roughed up by the Padres and Astros in the NLCS and World Series. I think he pitches more like that tonight against a Braves lineup that is a potent as they come. I like the Braves to go up 2-1 in this series.

Houston Astros +110

The Astros won the pivotal G3 of this 5 game series last night with ease 9-1, S. Gray gave up 4 in the 1st and it was game over from that point on. Tonight it will be J. Urquidy versus J. Ryan on the mound, neither pitcher has pitched since Sept 29 and you can question how effective either will be. There is one thing that stands out and that is that J. Ryan had zero success versus the Astros this season, in 2 starts this season his stat line is the following: 10 IP 9ER and a WHIP of 1.20. The Astros have the momentum heading into tonight I like them to end this series. Bye Bye Twins.

Calgary Flames -1.5 +179

A new season is upon the Flames as they look to move past the dreadful 2022-2023 they had. From mediocre goaltending to terrible seasons from the newly acquired J. Huberdeau and N. Kadri, the Flames look to bounce back in 2023-2024. I think the new voice of Head Coach R. Huska will only help as the rough in your face style of hard nosed former Coach D. Sutter was no longer effective. Coaches with that type of style have a shelf life in the current NHL and his was done last season. The Flames are a much better team and I expect a bounce back season from this talented group and it starts tonight win a big home on home ice versus the Jets.
