Casper Rudd and Taylor Fritz meet in the round robin stage of the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, Italy. Both players won their first match of the round robin, however, I feel Ruud’s victory has a bite more merit to it, he beat probably the hottest player on tour on F. Auger-Aliassime while Fritz beat R. Nadal who’s been dealing with injuries. Nadal suffered a straight set loss to Auger-Aliassime this morning which wasn’t very competitive 6-3 & 6-4, therefore, I question have impressive Fritz’s victory was from Sunday. These two have never faced each other in the past but I’m more impressed with Ruud’s play that Fritz’s this season, the wrong player if favored here.

Buffalo Sabres -1.5 +216

The Sabres host the Canucks tonight in Buffalo; the Canucks looked to have turned a corner for a while in late October early November winning 4 of 6 games but have gone back to their losing ways having lost 3 straight and not looking good at all again. When you look at the stat sheets you don’t have to ask why the Canucks give up so many goals, in their last 10 games they have let their opponents take over 34 shots a game, which isn’t a recipe for success. I like the Sabres to take advantage of the Canucks poor defensive play and win this game by multiple goals.

Florida Panthers -1.5 +138

The Panthers host the Caps tonight, the Caps are off an ugly loss to the Lightning Sunday night where they fell behind early 4-0 after one period and were never in the game. Now they face the Panthers with their laundry list of injured players making it hard to be competitive on a nightly basis. The Caps aren’t very good on the road at 2-5-1 with the Panthers continue to dominate on home ice at 4-1-1. The Panthers are 4-1 in their last 5 home meetings versus the Caps and due to all the injuries the Caps are dealing with I cannot see them keeping this game close. Panthers win big.
