The Senators host the Islanders tonight in Ottawa. The Senators snapped their 7 game losing streak last time out versus the Flyers 4-1; it was a costly victory as the Sens lost their #1 defenseman in T. Chabot to a concussion. Chabot is their workhorse on the bank end playing of 25 minutes a game and you cannot just replace than with someone that’s been sitting in the press box. The Sens are also missing one of their top forward in J. Norris which exacerbates their injury situation. The Isles have dominated their Sens for some time now winning 8 of the last 10 meetings and 7 of them have been by multiple goals, I expect that to continue tonight.
St Louis Blues +166
The Blues visit the Avs at Ball Arena tonight in Colorado. The Blues are playing much better of late winning 2 straight and coming off a real nice road victory versus the Knight on Saturday. The Avs are also playing well winners of 4 straight; we should see J. Binnington versus A. Georgiev in goal which means we should be in for a tight game. Like I mentioned in previous write ups, the Blues are a lot better team than their record indicates and probably shouldn’t be this big of a dog on the road versus the Avs considering they’ve won their last 2 trips to Colorado, so I will back them at a nice price.
San Antonio Spurs +7.5 -106
The Spurs (6-7) visit the Warriors (5-8) tonight at the Chase Center. The Warriors are off another disappointing loss last night to the Kings 122-115 where they had a huge lead in the first quarter but let it fizzle away in the second and then just faded late in the fourth quarter. The Warriors will be on a B2B and 3rd in 4 nights and so far this young season are 0-2 straight up on B2B. To this point the Spurs are clearly not playing like a team that has interest in tanking games for a better draft pick, that may change as the season progresses but for now the Spurs are keeping games close with an 8-5 ATS record. I definitely think they will keep this one close tonight.
