The Pirates return home from a 6 game road trip that saw them go 1-5, they'll be happy to be back and get to play one of the weakest teams in baseball the Rockies. The Rockies will battle the White Sox for baseball futility this season as they sit at 7-24 after the first 5th of the season. The Rockies have issues all over the field but their pitchers are really struggling, their rotation has been ravaged with injuries to G. Marques, K. Freeland and A. Senzatela, they have one of the worst bullpen ERAs in the majors at 5.20, and have injuries to key offensive players in N. Jones and K. Bryant. Pirates' starter M. Perez has been solid so far this season with a 2.86 ERA and should be able to neutralize this Rockies offense. I like the Pirates to rough up C. Quantrill and the Rockies bullpen to win this game by multiple runs and go over the total.   

Seattle Mariners/Houston Astros U8 -105

The Mariners and Astros start a weekend series tonight in Houston, both of tonights' starters G. Kirby and R. Blanco are on a roll right now. After a rough start to the season, Kirby has pitched really well over his last 3 starts, he's given up only 2 ER over his last 18 IP with 2 of those 3 starts staying under the total. Blanco has been lights out since the season started, with a 1.65 ERA & throwing a no hitter. He hasn't allowed more than 2 ER in any start this season and his home ERA is even more impressive at 1.20. We have two pitchers in a zone right now and there is no reason to believe that either starting lineup will be able to change that here, I like the under in this game.
