The Padres host the Pirates for G2 of this series, the Padres rallied from 3 runs down to beat the Pirates 4-3 last night. Tonight it will be JT Brubaker versus J. Musgrove on the mound. The clear advantage is to the Padres as Musgrove has been phenomenal this season while Brubaker has been terrible. Offensively the Pirates are a weak team and Musgrove should be able to limit their opportunities. Behind the plate is M. Gonzalez and the home team is 7-0 with him calling balls and strikes while outscoring their opponents by almost 4 full runs. The Padres will have their way with the Pirates.

Oakland A’s -107

The A’s face the Rangers this afternoon at the Coliseum in Oakland. It will be T. Hearn versus Z. Logue on the hill, if you look at T. Hearn’s game logs you will see that he’s consistent in that you know he will give up 3-4 runs over 5 to 6 innings almost every start and that will usually be forcing the Rangers to play catchup. He pitched twice versus the A’s last season and got roughed up both times, for the A’s Z. Logue has pitched pretty well outside of his last start. C. Blaser is behind the plate this afternoon and the home team is 8-1 with him, I will back the A’s with the better pitcher and the umpire that favors the home squad.

San Francisco Giants/Cincinnati Reds O9.5 -113

The Giants and Reds go at it this afternoon at Great American Ball Park. A. Wood will try to outpitch V. Gutierrez, neither has pitched well this season, Wood has an ERA of 4.82 while Gutierrez has an ERA of 8.70. The Giants bats were quiet last night but I expect them to get some today with Gutierrez on the mound and Wood has shown that he isn’t as dominant as he’s been in the past. Plus, A. Hamari is the umpire for today’s game and the over is 6-1 with him, I expect a high scoring affair today.

Miami Marlins +105

The Miami Marlins try to snap their 3 game losing streak this afternoon in Atlanta. If there was a time for that to happen it would today where they have a huge advantage on the mound when S. Alcantara faces T. Davidson. Outside of one bad start versus the Mariners, Alcantara has not given up more than 2 earned runs in any start this season. Davidson will be making his 3rd start of the season since being call up from the minors, he pitched well in his first start and got hit hard by the Phillies is his last start. With the way Alcantara is pitching 3-4 runs should get it done tonight.
