It’s G2 of the series between the Cubs and Reds; the Cubs beat the Reds last night 7-4 thanks to big nights from I. Happ & P. Wisdom. It’s M. Stroman versus T. Mahle tonight; Stroman got roughed up early in the season but has been pitching much better lately giving up only 4 earned runs over his last 18 innings pitched. Mahle has pitched better as well but has faced week offensive teams in Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Mahle hasn’t had much success versus the Cubs is his career and I expect those struggles to continue tonight. I like Stroman to pitch well and win by 2 or more.

Philadelphia Phillies/Atlanta Braves O8.5 -113

The Phillies and Braves play G2 of their series; we have K. Gibson versus M. Fried on the mound. Gibson is a pitcher that has also struggled in road start even going back to his days with the Twins and nothing has changed since he then moved on to the Rangers and then the Phillies. This season his road ERA is 6.27, last season it was 4.47 and 4.89 in 2020. So when Gibson gets roughed up the chances are very high that it will be in a road start. We also have an over umpire in A. Hamari behind the plate tonight; the over is 5-1 with him behind the dish. I like the over here.

Toronto Blue Jays -1.5 +122

The Jays are in St Louis for G2 of their series versus the Cards, the Cards walked off the Jays with a 10th inning grand slam to win 7-3. Tonight the Jays send their ace K. Gausman to the mound to face J. Hicks, Gausman has been great this season with an ERA of 2.52 and not surrendering more than 3 earned runs in any start. Hicks on the other hand hasn’t been terrible but hasn’t pitched more than 4 innings in a game more than once. I like the Jays bats to get to Hicks and the Cards bullpen tonight and with this game by multiple runs.
