SD Padres -1.5 +129 & SD Padres/Cincinnati Reds O9 -115

The Padres and Reds play G2 of their series tonight when M. King faces former Padre N. Martinez on the mound. The Reds signed Martinez during the offseason with the idea that he would be an integral part of their rotation in 2024, that hasn't been the case at all so far as he was been very ineffective to start the season (6.86 ERA) and was removed from the rotation. He's back in the rotation with the injury to N. Lodolo, however, I don't see him just turning things around with the fact that he was out of the rotation for a couple of weeks. King has had up and down starts this season, however, has been very effective on the road this season with a 2.76 ERA. The Padres were shutout last night 2-0, but I expect a big rebound here versus Martinez who hasn't been good at all this season. I like the Padres on the run line and over the total here.

Detroit Tigers -1.5 +154

The Tigers look to their ace T. Skubal to end a three game slide this afternoon when he faces C. Ragans and the Royals. Skubal is making his case for a 2024 CY Young as he sits at 6-0 with a 1.80 ERA through 9 starts this season. This will be his 2nd start versus the Royals this season as he dominated them over 7 innings on April 28th in a 4-1 win. Ragans has also pitched well but has struggled to have success at home this season with a 4.40 ERA and he won't get any help from home plate umpire M. Wegner today. The home team has a 1-8 record on the 9 games he's umpired this season, with Skubal pitching so well, Ragans struggling to perform well at home and Wegner behind the plate I like the Tigers on the run line here.
