The MLB season begins today and it should an exciting season with the pitch clock and a more balanced schedule (less divisional games). I like several of the acquisitions the Twins made during the off season in today’s starter P. Lopez, C. Vazquez at catcher, Michael Taylor and Joey Gallo, and the obvious return of C. Correa at SS. The Royals send the old timer Z. Greinke to the mound, he pitched really well at home last season and was terrible on the road and we also have to admit to the fact that he is also a year older as well. I like the Twins lineup from top to bottom and hopefully B. Buxton can stay healthy this season. I like the Twins to win their opening game.

St Louis Blues -144

The Blues are in Chicago to face the Blackhawks; the Blues have been smoking on offense since mid-March. They’ve scored 3 plus goals in 9 of their last 10 games, the only issue has been that they’ve given up a lot of goals as well and found a way to lose 4 of those 10 games. However, tonight they play a team in the Blackhawks that just can’t wait for the season to be over, they’ve lost 6 straight and 8 of their last 10 and can’t score goals. They’ve scored a combined 19 goals in their last 10 games and 9 of the 19 goals came over a 2 game span, so they’ve averaged barely a goal a game over the other 8. With the way both teams are performing offensively the Blues should come out victorious tonight.

Las Vegas Golden Knights -168

The Knights are in San Jose to face the Sharks; stop the press! The Sharks won their last game versus the Jets snapping a 9 game losing streak; however, I like a new losing streak to start tonight. Let’s face it; we have a great road team in the Knights at 24-7-3-2 versus a terrible team in the Sharks and I expect the Knights to take this game seriously and not play down to the level of completion as they have first place on the line as they battle the Kings for the Pacific division lead. The Knights are dealing with several injuries but the Sharks shouldn’t put up that much of a fight tonight. Give me the Knight s to get back on the winning track.
