The red hot Canucks are in St Louis to face the Blues; the Canucks have won 8 of their last 10 games and many are probably wondering had they not waited so long to replace former coach B. Boudreau if they could be vying for a playoff spot. The combination of offensive execution and excellent goaltending thanks to the return of T. Demko has propelled the Canucks from pushovers to a team to be feared for the rest of the season. The Blues are projected to start J. Binnington in goal and if that is the case, the Canucks will have a huge advantage, however even if they go with Hofer in goal I still like the Canucks here.

Philadelphia Flyers -.5 -108 (regulation)

The Habs are in now in Philly tonight after beating the Sabres in a shootout last night. I have to think that fatigue will be a factor for the Habs as they will be playing their 4th game in 6 nights and surprisingly enough the Flyers have been playing really well winning 4 of their last 5 games. The Habs have already confirmed that 3rd stringer C. Primeau in getting the nod in goal and if you've followed the Habs over the last 2 seasons, you know that Primeau isn't a good goalie and they will already start behind the 8 ball with him starting. I like the Flyers here on home ice to take care of the Habs in regulation.

Pittsburg Penguins/Detroit Red Wings O6 -118

The Penguins are in Detroit to face the Red Wings tonight; the Penguins will be starting their backup C. DeSmith while the Wings are going with 3rd stringer A. Nedeljkovic. Neither has performed well when called upon this season as DeSmith has a GAA of 3.11 and Nedeljkovic is at 3.83. The Penguins are in must win mode, so if they fall behind early they will need to press in order to get back into the game which should create scoring opportunities. These two teams have a history of playing over in Detroit at it has hit in 8 of the last 11 meetings there, add that to the combination of bad goalies starting this game and I expect to see several goals scored tonight.
