Winnipeg Jets -.5 +121 (regulation)
The Jets are in Long Island to face the Islanders tonight, the Jets had their 3 game winning streak snapped by the Devils on Thursday 4-1 while the misery for the Isles continues as their losing streak has now reached 6 games. We must be sounding like a broken record but the reasons remain the same for their poor play and that is bad defensive play which results in plenty of scoring opportunities, which puts their goaltenders in a bad spot and they allow a lot of goals, The Isles have surrendered 4 plus goals in 5 of this 6 losses and get to face C. Hellebuyck tonight, so scoring will be an issue for the Isles and if their continue their poor play in the defensive zone the losing streak will go to 7. I like the Jets in regulation.
Sacramento Kings/Orlando Magic U217 -105
The Magic host the Kings tonight in Orlando, both sides are playing well as the Kings have won 4 of their last 6 games while the Magic have won 5 straight. The one thing both teams have been doing of late is playing strong defense, the Magic have held their opponents to an avg. of 100 points scored over their winning streak and sit in the top 7 of the NBA in the following defensive categories, FGM, FGA, 3P%, 3PM & 3PA. The Kings aren't so bad on the defensive end as the rank in the top tier of FGM, FGA, 3PM & 3PA. The Kings and Magic have played to the under in 7 of their last 10 games so I expect a strong defensive game from both sides here tonight leading this game to fall under the total
North Carolina Tar Heels -4 -105
The North Carolina Tar Heels face the Michigan St. Spartans in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament today. Like in so many years past, people always say this is T. Izzo time and he always have his team ready for March, and after their performance versus Miss St. you'd have to agree, The problem is the Tar Heels are a different beast tonight, and I don't believe the Spartans with have the bodies to bang down low versus A. Bacot and will be able to play good enough defense versus the 3 ball. As the tournament moves on, the one aspect that will always hurt or help a team move forward is free throw shooting, and we can confirm that that is something the Spartans are not good at as they rank 245th in FT%, 271st in FTA and 255th in FTM. whereas the Heels rank 58th, 14th and 23rd in those respective categories, I like the Heels to cover and move on to the sweet 16!
