The Astros are in Toronto to start a four game series this afternoon. It is Canada Day and the Rogers Centre will be filled with a see of red today as the Jays will be playing in the annual red Jays uniform. It will be H, Brown versus Y. Rodriguez on the mound, Brown is in a zone right now with a 1.47 ERA over his last 7 starts, however, a lot of that success has been lack luster offenses like the Rockies, Angels, Tigers and White Sox. He may find things a little more difficult versus the Jays, as their offense has picked up over the last week and a half versus the Yanks and Red Sox. Rodriguez was pitching somewhat well in the month of April but was on the IL the whole month of May and most of June, he wasn't very effective in his last start not making it past 2 innings in a 7-1 to the Guardians. The Astros offense is also clicking having scored 4 runs or more in 9 of their last 10 games, I like the Astros on the run line and over the total here.

NY Mets -109

The Mets are in DC to face the Mats tonight, it will be a battle of lefties as D. Peterson faces M. Gore. The Mets are off two straight losses to the Astros but you can understand that as mentioned above the Astros are raking right now. The Nats are really struggling as they're returning home from a 9 game road trip in which they went 3-6 and 2 of those 3 wins came versus the Rockies. Peterson has pitched well since being added to the Mets rotation with a respectable 3.67 ERA and the Mets winning 4 of his 5 starts, Gore started the 2024 season strong but has started to tailed off as of late over his last 7 starts as his ERA has ballooned 4.66. The Mets are playing better baseball than the Nats at the moment as their offense is clicking, I like the Mets on the road here.
