Yesterday I gave the Twins as a run line play that came in as they scored early and often versus L. Lynn. Today I like the advantage the Sox have on the mound with D. Cease facing C. Archer. Cease has been phenomenal on the road this season as the Sox are 7-1 in his 8 starts while he’s posted an ERA of 1.52. C. Archer has pitched well this season but I personally feel it’s been all smoke and mirrors with him, 10 of his 18 starts have been versus the weakest offenses in MLB (KC, Det, Clev & TB). This is another opportunity for Cease to prove he should have been an All-Star!

Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 +147

The Rays and Orioles play the rubber game of this 3 game series today in Tampa, the O’s knotted this series at a game apiece with a come from behind victory 6-4 in extras. Today it will be J. Lyles versus C. Kluber; Lyles hasn’t been as solid on the road as at home this season, the O’s are 4-7 in his road starts in part because his road ERA is 5.52. Kluber has been solid at the Trop so far this season; the Rays have won 6 of his 8 home starts thank to his ERA of 3.07 and WHIP of 1.00. If the Rays can muster enough offense they should win this by multiple runs.

Cincinnati Reds +154

The Reds look to avoid being swept by the Cards going into the All-Star break. The Reds were red hot coming into this series before losing the first 2 games. G. Ashcraft faces S. Matz on the mound; Matz will be making his first start since May 22nd as he was on the IL. Before going onto the IL Matz was not pitching well at all, his ERA was 6.03. For the Reds Ashcraft started of strong on the mound then went through a lull where he got lite up in 3 out of 4 starts and has settled down and is pitching well again. I like the value here on the Reds versus a pitcher coming off the IL and that wasn’t pitching well before that.
