The Red Sox visit the Rays after an emotional weekend series with the Yanks. The Red Sox rallied back down several runs both Saturday and Sunday to even the 4 game series at 2 games apiece. I expect the Sox to use that momentum versus the Rays tonight. The Rays just got swept in a weekend series versus the lowly Reds and now have to take on the Sox running high on emotion. B. Bello one of the Sox top pitching prospects will make his 2nd start of his big league career. As expected the first didn’t go great but you had to expect jitters in his first MLB start. I expect tonight to be different as the game will be on the road and expectations will be tempered. The Rays bats are cold and I expect the Sox to roll here.

Chicago White Sox -1.5 +142

The Guardians host the White Sox tonight to begin a 3 game series. The Guardians are slumping right now having lost 8 of their last 10 games and slipping from leading the AL Central to now 4.5 games behind the Twins. The Guardians are a team that will go through prolonged slumps as offensively outside of J. Ramirez and perhaps F. Reyes the rest of the lineup is very weak. The White Sox are mostly healthy again with the return of L. Robert and most recently E. Jimenez. I like L. Lynn to outpitch C. Quantrill and the Sox to win by multiple runs.

New York Mets +117

The Mets visit the Braves in a battle of the top 2 teams in the NL East. It will be M. Scherzer versus M. Fried, what a game this should be! With that being said, if you’re going to offer me M. Scherzer at plus money, I will be on that all day regardless whom he faces. Even though the Braves just swept the Nats they didn’t have an easy go at it winning both Saturday and Sunday by 1 run only. This should be a low scoring game that can go either way so I like the value in a great pitcher like M. Scherzer.
