Val’s Big Payday Parlay January 22nd 2023

Val

We go 2-1 and miss the parlay again by a game, it is the second time in four days that we miss it because of large NBA home favorite not being able to win straight up! Last night with the Hawks down 2 points and T. Young inbounding the ball (1.1 seconds left), he couldn't get the ball in for a shot and got called for a 5 second violation. I couldn't believe my eyes, worst part is he had a chance to inbound the ball to John Collins and I almost felt that he said to himself, I can't pass it to a big man for the shot. I guess the 5 second violation was the better option for him! Unreal!

Winnipeg Jets/Philadelphia Flyers U6.5 -111

The Jets are in Philly to face the Flyers tonight; both teams are on a B2B and projected to start their backup goalies in D. Rittich and F. Sandstrom. Rittich hasn’t been bad at all this season with a GAA of 2.57 and a save percentage of .908, Sandstrom hasn’t been great at 3.37 GAA & .888 save percentage. The Jets have yet to play an over on a B2B this season as their 6 games have gone to the under and I’m sure Rittich was in goal for a majority of those. The Jets have also played six straights unders while the Flyers haven’t had a game go over six goals in five straight game, many would think the over is the play here because of the backup goalies but I like the under here.

LA Kings -0.5 -140 regulation

The Kings and Blackhawks is another game where both teams will be on a B2B with different results, the Kings lost 5-3 to the Predators while the Hawks were victorious over the Blues by the same score. I’m not sure what’s going on in Chicago but they’ve won six of their last seven and could be playing themselves out of the race for the coveted C. Bedard in the upcoming draft at this rate. The Hawks have yet to win a game on a B2B this season at 0-5, while the Kings are 1-1-2. The Kings have dominated the matchups between these two teams recently winning 7 of the last 10 games. I will back them here to continue to dominate the Hawks.

Toronto Raptors -106

Two teams that are currently struggling in the Knicks and Raptors meet up in Toronto tonight as both teams have lost three straight. Unfortunately for the Knicks breaking that streak will be difficult as Toronto is not a city that has been kind to them; the Knicks have lost 11 of their last 12 games in Toronto. If the Raptors have any intention of making the playoffs they will need to get things going if not they will have decisions to make about possibly trading pieces (VanVleet in particular) towards the trade deadline. Even though the Raptors seem to be trending in the wrong direction I will back them here as they’ve played better on home court this season and have dominated the Knicks.
