Val’s Big Payday Parlay, pays +1563
Straight up record for Big Payday Plays
Overall Record 78-88, +14.71 units
Houston Cougars +104
The Cougars face the Tigers in the Birmingham Bowl this afternoon. Houston’s best defensive player Marcus Jones recently opted out of this game and that will hurt them, however, Auburn will be missing plenty of players as well. The Tigers will be missing 3 starters from their offensive line as well as Bo Nix who’s transferring to Oregon. I think Houston’s stout run defense will be the difference here as they will force TJ Finley to try and beat them with the pass game. Houston should be able to get a lot of pressure on Finley with those 3 OLine starters missing also. Cougars win straight up.
Minnesota Golden Gophers -5 -107
The Gophers and Mountaineers faceoff in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl tonight. West Virginia’s best RB Leddie Brown opted out of the game and will make them one dimensional. WV was successful moving the ball via the pass, however, one of Minny’s strength was their pass defense, so we will have strength vs strength here tonight. With Brown out, the Gophers should be able to have schemes ready to neutralize WV's passing attack knowing the run won’t be much of an option. WV was also one of the worst teams in the FBS in turnover margin as they ranked 113th in the nation at -8. This is a good recipe for the Gophers to cover the 5 points tonight.
San Jose Sharks -1.5 +116
The NHL is finally back! The Sharks host the Coyotes in San Jose. There is one thing for sure that didn’t happen during this mini hiatus for the Coyotes and that is they didn’t magically get better! The Sharks will have the clear advantage in goal as James Reimer is much better than whoever is in goal for Zona. Offensively and defensively the Sharks are just better than the Coyotes and this is the perfect kind of team to face after a week layoff, one that you’re significantly better than. Sharks win by multiple goals.
Vegas Golden Knights/ LA Kings O5.5 -120
The Knights faceoff against the Kings tonight in LA. These two teams have a history of scoring a lot of goals when they play each other. The over is 4-0 on the last 4 matchups and 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in LA. Add to that, there will be several key defensemen missing on both sides due to covid protocols and injury and that will just provide more scoring opportunities for both sides. I like the over trend to continue here again!
