Tom Brady and the Bucs are in Carolina to face the Panthers. The one thing everyone knows about Tom Brady is his lack of mobility and now at age 44 he’s even less mobile than he was in his 20’s & 30’s. Also at this age it is clear that he needs all his weapons on offense at full strength to be effective. This is who will be missing on offense today for the Bucs: WRs Breshad Perriman, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, RBs Leonard Fournette & Gio Bernard. That will leave Tom with Gronk and Ronald Jones as the only serviceable options. The Bucs are also going to be missing Lavonte David, Jason Pierre-Paul and Antoine Winfield on defense. The Panthers also have a front line that will be able to put pressure on Brady and force him to move around in the pocket, something he isn’t comfortable doing. The Bucs have too many missing pieces to be this big of a favorite on the road. Panthers surprise here as an 11 point dog!

Washington Wizards +143

The 76ers are in Washington to face the Wizards. The Wizards will be missing Bradley Beal tonight which is a big blow for them; however, the 76ers will be missing Danny Green, Andre Drummond, Georges Niang, Shake Milton and Tyrese Maxey. That is one starter and their 4 main reserves off the bench! Missing that many quality players off the bench will be a big problem for them. Doc Rivers will not play Seth Curry and Joel Embiid over 40 minutes in order to win a road game this early in the season, that isn’t his style especially with Embiid’s injury history. So I see an opportunity here for the Wizards to win a home game versus a depleted 76ers team.   

OKC Thunder -109

The Thunder host the Pelicans tonight in OKC. The Thunder are one of the few teams in sports right now that have no player on a covid list. So they will be at full strength tonight, the Pels will be missing Jonas Valanciunas and Nickeil Alexander-Walker. Both are key contributors on the offensive end with Valanciunas being a huge key on the defensive end averaging 12 boards a game. He will be replaced by Jaxson Hayes whose game is very raw. This will be a revenge spot for the Thunder as they lost to the Pels at home on Dec 15th.
