Two teams with playoff implications meet up in the Lions and Panthers today. The Lions are chasing the Giants & Commanders for a Wild Card spot, while the Panthers at 5-9 are still in the hunt for the NFC South Division title, yes that’s how bad the NFC South is this season! For that reason I can see both these teams being a little more conservative with decision making at some crucial points. The Panthers have a pretty good defense and the Lions have played much better defensively especially versus weaker offensive teams like the Panthers. I can see a 21-17 final here today staying under the posted total.

New England Patriots +130

The Patriots host the Bengals today at Gillette Stadium, if there is one coach that can shake of a disastrous play that ended last week’s Patriots game it has to be B. Belichick. The Patriots chances of making the playoffs mathematically took a major hit last week and sits at 22%, however, regardless of that number Belichick I’m sure will have his team ready to go at home versus the Bengals who’ve won 6 straight but outside their win versus the Chiefs haven’t beaten anyone good. I will back the Patriots coached by Belichick as a home underdog any day!

Philadelphia Eagles +180

The Eagles are in Dallas to face the Cowboys this afternoon; much has been made about J. Hurts not playing today and yes he’s having an MVP caliber season but the Eagles are a solid team and can survive short team with G. Minshew behind center. If the Cowboys are forced to throw the ball that will be an issue as D. Prescott has led the NFL in INTs since coming back from injury in Week 7. I’ve never been a fan of Cowboys’ coach M. McCarthy even going back to his days with the Packers, I personally feel he’s piggy backed off A. Rodgers great talent and is where he is because of him. This line is an overreaction to Hurts not playing; I like the Eagles to win straight up.
