New York Rangers +116

Two teams really playing well face off in Pittsburgh tonight when the Pens host the Rangers. The Rangers have won 7 straight while the Penguins have won 7 of their last 8. Like I mentioned in a write up last week, the Rangers offense is firing on all cylinders right now having scored 3 or more goal in 6 of their 7 games during the winning streak. This is a game that can go either, but the Rangers offense and goaltending has been slightly better than that of Pittsburgh of late and for that reason I will back them as a small road dog tonight.

Columbus Blue Jackets +156

I wrote last week in a write up asking what the Calgary Flames had done to warrant being a -200 favorite over any opponent in the NHL? Well today I’m asking the same question about the Flyers (-176)! Don’t get me wrong the Jackets are pretty terrible but let’s make this clear the Flyers are just as terrible. Both teams have lost 7 of their last 10 games are injury depleted and haven’t looked competitive in many of those losses. The Flyers can’t be in a good state of mind with J. Tortorella making K. Hayes their leading scorer a healthy scratched for no apparent reason last game, good old Torts knowing what it takes to lose a room! Keep doing you Torts! and we will try and profit from it!

Oklahoma Sooners +130

The Oklahoma Sooners (8-3) face the Florida Gators (7-3) in the Jumpman Invitational tonight. Both teams haven’t looked great so far this season and could risk being bubble teams if they don’t turn things around quick. The Gators have 7 wins but absolutely none versus a team of significance, they’ve played versus 3 good teams; Xavier lost by 7, West Virginia got smoked by 29 and UConn smoked again by 21. The Sooners have also lost to good teams but have kept games a lot closer losing to Villanova by 4 and Arkansas by 10. I think Coach P. Moser has a better grip of who his Sooner team actually is over first year Gators’ Coach T. Golden. I will back the Sooners as a dog on a neutral court.
