The Cards visit the Reds tonight in Cincy; it will be M. Mikolas versus C. Anderson on the mound. The Cards just finished taking 2 of 3 games from the Braves over the weekend maintaining their division lead over the Brewers at 6 games. I like the Reds here tonight as Mikolas has been vulnerable on the road this season, his road ERA is almost 2 full points higher at 4.21 than it is at home and the Cards have a losing record at 6-8 in his 14 road starts. Mikolas also faced the Reds in Cincy in late July and it didn’t go well for him as he gave up 6 runs in 5 innings in a 6-3 loss. I like the Reds here at a nice price.

Los Angeles Angels +162

The Yanks are in Anaheim to face the Angels after splitting a 4 game series with the lowly A’s. Is it possible the Yanks offense is hitting another one of those offensive droughts as it did in early August? After scoring 13 runs in game 1 of the series, they scored a combined 6 over the last 3 games and the A’s didn’t have any special on the mound for those 3 games. The Angels are back home after having swept the Jays in a 3 game series where they scored 22 runs in 3 games. M. Trout is back in the lineup and the Angels are scoring runs again, I like the Angels at this number to beat the Yanks.

San Diego Padres +116

The Padres start a 6 game road trip that sees them visit division rivals in the Giants followed by the Dodgers. Tonight the Friars send M. Clevinger to the mound to face C. Rodon, tonight should be a low scoring game as both pitchers have been pitching well over the last month. The Padres have not played well since the acquisitions of J. Soto, J. Bell and B. Drury at the trade deadline and now enter a crucial part of the season when they will need to beat good teams to make the playoffs and it starts tonight versus the Giants. I like the Padres lineup much better than that of the Giants tonight, so I will back them at plus money.
