The Cubs look to continue to play spoiler in the NL Central when they play the Cards this afternoon. It will be D. Hudson versus M. Stroman on the mound; Hudson has not been good for the Cards on the road this season, they’re 3-9 in his 12 road starts as he has an ERA of 5.34 and WHIP of 1.60. He also hasn’t been good at home or on the road in his last 7 starts either as the Cards are 2-5 and his ERA is even higher at 5.51. For the Cubs, Stroman has pitched very well of late as his ERA is 2.45 in his last 7 starts, I like to Cubs to surprise the Cards at home today.

Los Angeles Angels +180

The Angels look to avoid a 4 game sweep to the Rays this afternoon. The Angels have lost 5 straight and are really struggling to score runs, however, I like their chances to get off the snide when P. Sandoval faces D. Rasmussen on the mound. Sandoval has been the only bright spot in the Angels rotation as he’s pitched very well this season. Rasmussen has pitched equally well for the Rays this season so this will probably be a low scoring affair on a travel day. With the way Sandoval has pitched getting him at +180 is a nice price.

Chicago White Sox -1.5 +142

The White Sox and Orioles play the rubber game of this 3 game series tonight. The Sox send L. Lynn to the mound versus J. Lyles. Lynn has pitched better in 3 of his last 4 starts and may be turning a corner when the Sox need him the most down the stretch. J. Lyles has done the opposite; he’s been lite up in pretty badly in 4 of his last 7 starts. This should be an exciting game between 2 teams pushing for a playoff spot; I will back the pitcher in better form at the moment in Lynn. Sox win by multiple runs.
