The Jays visit the Red Sox for a series at Fenway. R. Stripling will face J. Winckowski on the mound; there isn’t much assessment to be done on Winckowski, he’s pitched well in some starts versus some of the weakest offenses in baseball and has been hit around versus the stronger teams. Well the Jays definitely are part of the stronger teams and I expect them to score tonight. Stripling will be making his 4th start versus the Sox and he has pitched well in his previous 3 starts, I expect more of the same tonight.

San Diego Padres -1.5 +142

The Padres host the Guardians tonight at Petco Park; it will be M. Clevinger versus A. Civale on the mound. Clevinger will be making his 2nd start versus his former club, the first didn’t go great but it was also his first start in over a year as he was dealing with an arm injury. The Padres have won 4 of his last 5 starts with all 4 victories by 2 run or more. For the Guardians, Civale has not been great on the road, his road ERA is over 7.00 and a WHIP of 1.51. The Padres offense hasn’t been tearing the cover off the ball lately but Civale might just be the remedy they need for things to change.

Chicago White Sox -1.5 +127

The White Sox and Orioles start a big series between 2 teams chasing a wild card spot. It will be D. Cease versus A. Voth on the mound; Cease starts tonight as his scheduled start Sunday was postponed due to rain. Cease is in a second race as well and that is for a potential CY Young award, he will be going head to head with J. Verlander the rest of the way. A. Voth is pitching for the Orioles, even though the Orioles are 5-0 in his home starts his ERA is over 4.00, and versus someone like Cease, Voth and the Orioles will not have the opportunity to win a high score game. The White Sox take it by multiple runs.
