This is an important game for both teams as the Sox are 2.5 games behind the Guardians for 1st place in the AL central. This will be the 3rd time Cease faces the Guardians, the first start didn’t go well however, he’s shut down the Guardians giving up 0 earned runs over 11 2/3 innings in the last 2. I expect more of the same today.

The Jays go for the sweep of a 4 game series versus the Yanks today. I normally don’t condone playing this type of game but the Yanks are in shambles right night. The can’t score runs and manager A. Boone is running out of reasons to explain this nose dive the Yanks are in. Lucky for them they had a huge lead in the division before the month of August started. A. Manoah is on the mound for the Jays and he has had the Yanks number when pitching, until the Yanks show me otherwise, you have to back the Jays here as a dog.

Miami Marlins +150

Betting versus the Dodgers hasn’t been good for business over the last month but if you’re going to give me probably the best pitcher in the NL in S. Alcantara at +150, I will take it every day. R. Pepiot is on the hill for the Dodgers and he’s been average at best since being added to the rotation. His ERA is 4.26 and his WHIP is terrible at 1.50. I feel that if the Marlins can squeak out 3 runs that should be enough for a victory, that may be hard to achieve the way the offense has been going but I like Alcantara to shut down the Dodgers and win this game.
