Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 +112
The Rays host the Twins tonight, last night the Rays took it 6-1 as we saw some regression from Twins starter D. Bundy as it was expected as he couldn’t continue on his current pace. Tonight the Twins have C. Archer toeing the rubber and I expect regression from him as well. He started the season strong but it has been years since he dominated the American league when pitching for the Rays. He now finds himself with the Twins versus his former club. The Rays have won 3 straight and are swinging the bat batter as of late, I like them to win by 2 or more as they did last night.
Texas Rangers +104
The Rangers host the Braves tonight in Arlington. We have B. Elder facing off versus D. Dunning; like I mentioned in an earlier post D. Dunning has some serious differences between his home and road splits. He’s very good at home and terrible on the road, the Braves have their 5th starter going tonight and I think the Rangers bats can take advantage of him. Combine that with how good Dunning has been at home over the last 2 seasons, the Rangers are the play tonight.
Philadelphia Phillies/NY Mets O7.5 -113
The Phillies are in Queens to face the Mets in game 2 of this series. The Mets tossed a combined no hitter last night in a 3-0 victory. I expect more runs scored by both sides today. We have K. Gibson versus T. Walker; Gibson is an average pitcher while Walker can be hit or miss on any given start. I think the Phillies bats wake up tonight after last night’s no show and the Mets should be good for 4 runs. I like the over here.
Seattle Mariners/Miami Marlins U7.5 -118
The Mariners face the Marlins in game 2 of this 3 game series. Last night was a slugfest with the Marlins taking it 8-6, tonight I expect as pitchers’ duel as we have R. Ray facing J. Luzardo. Both are power pitchers and it they have their off speed pitches clicking it will be a tough night for batters on both sides. We also have Lance Barrett behind home plate calling balls and strikes and he’s a big under umpire this season, so far all three games he’s been behind the plate have gone under with no games scoring more than 6 runs in total.
