We have a battle of Pennsylvania tonight between the Flyers and Penguins; both teams will be on a B2B after suffering losses yesterday. The loss for the Penguins has lot of significance as it allowed the Panthers to pass the Penguins for the last playoff spot, however, the Penguins do have a game in hand and tonight they make up that game. The Penguins have dominated the Flyers of late winning 4 of the last 5 meetings and I fully expect Crosby, Malkin and Letang to have their team ready tonight and win this game.

Minnesota Twins -147

The Twins go for the sweep of the Royals this afternoon when R. Ryan faces B. Keller. Runs have been very difficult to come by in this series as the Twins have won the first 2 games by the identical score of 2-0. The Royals offensive futility has already started 2 games into the season. Things don’t get any better for them today as Ryan has dominated them since joining the majors, last season he was 4-0 with an ERA of 1.13 in 4, his counterpart Keller pitched twice versus the Twins and was roughed up and lost both times. I know a new season is upon us and anything can change but the Twins have the better starter and the Royals are in an offensive funk to start the season.

Houston Astros -156

The White Sox and Astros play the finale of their 4 game series this afternoon, the Astros have won 2 of the first 3 games. The Sox send M. Clevinger to the mound to face L. Garcia, Clevinger hasn’t been able to recapture his dominance he had since his injury when pitching for the Indians. Last year was a terrible year with the Padres as he was 7-8 with a 4.70 ERA as he only twice pitched past the 6th inning. Garcia had a 3.66 ERA for the Astros last season and should be able to outpitch Clevinger today. The Astros have an off day tomorrow so I do not expect many regulars to be sitting today meaning they will have the stronger starting 9 going.
